Eight cups is not as wide as the molds that I have. This one is a little smaller, and it is perfect for a box of cake mix. It rises just right to the top of it. With my metallic molds, the batter rises only about up to two thirds of the mold, so I feel like I should have used more mix than one box... With this fluted pan, the cake mix was the perfect quantity.
